The Calling

I am Celina Jacques (she/her), a 3rd-generation de-tribalized Chicana Indigena. My roots are planted in the northern Chihuahuan desert—home to the Rarámuri/Tarahumara peoples whose spirits echo through my veins. I am an artist, and a wounded healer who feels a passionate calling to serve. My journey began with my mother, who was my first teacher, igniting a fire within me to seek healing and understanding.

My creative, spiritual, and academic paths have beautifully intertwined, empowering me to reclaim and honor my family’s healing lineage. I craft my healing approach by weaving together the sacred wisdom of holistic healing and the insights of modern psychology, forging new pathways for transformation and renewal.

The Mission

I am deeply passionate about igniting the light within your heart through the transformative power of creativity and sacred ritual. My purpose is to stand beside you as a loving witness and compassionate guide on your healing journey. I am here wholeheartedly to help you rediscover your inner strength, to nurture hope that sparks new beginnings, and to awaken joy that fills your soul with purpose.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Art Therapist, with specialized training in Latino family therapy, transpersonal therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and breath work, I am endlessly committed to guiding others toward their own healing journey. This is more than a profession; it is my purpose.

Dedicated to using creativity and ritual for healing the heart, mind, and spirit.

The Journey

My professional journey has been a passionate and relentless pursuit of healing, understanding, and connection. For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself to working alongside mentors, healers, and teachers—transforming my own trauma, deepening my spiritual practice, and diving into the profound worlds of meditation and neuroscience. In 2014, I passionately embraced the ancient sacred art of Curanderismo, a timeless Mexican spiritual healing tradition that connects me to my ancestors and my roots.

I began amidst the walls of residential and in-patient psychiatric facilities, where I witnessed the raw, resilient spirit of adults and children battling trauma and severe mental illness. It was there that I learned the profound power of compassion and hope, fueling my commitment to making a difference. My path led me to serve children and families through the nonprofit sector, driven by a deep desire to foster healing and resilience. I have been fortunate to continue this mission in private practice and consultation, nurturing the growth and well-being of others with unwavering dedication.

For over a decade I have participated in spiritual artivism with Mujeres de Maíz channeling the divine through art to awaken consciousness and inspire change. My work was honored to be included in their 2024 publication—a testament to my unwavering commitment to cultural and spiritual activism.

Academically, I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy, along with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. My art—embodying iron sculpture, pottery, metalwork, jewelry, painting, and drawing—is a sacred extension of my healing journey. Exhibited across galleries in Los Angeles, my artwork is a heartfelt expression of transformation, resilience, and love—a deeply personal testament to the power of creativity to mend the soul.
